Dear Brieanna,

I don't have a lot to tell you. We recently went to Colorado on vacation and to relax, and had an enjoyable time.

The big news here in Utah was the kidnapping of a girl who lived in Salt Lake in a wealthy neighborhood. Here name is Elizabeth Smart. She was kidnapped from her room at about 3:00 am at gun point. Here sister was in her room, but was too scared to tell anyone for a couple of hours. The story has been in all of the national news. I was asked to be a volunteer in the search. Her uncle lives in our ward. I went up to Salt Lake and searched one of the parks with about 50 other volunteers. There have been thousands of volunteers in the community who have helped in the search this last week, but there have been no valuable leads. I feel so sorry for the family. I have some knowledge of what it is like to have a child taken away. However, not knowing if a child is alive and safe, would be unbearable.

Brieanna, I miss you. I still hope for your return. I pray always for you.
